Humans of LP: Mrs. Rosenbaum

“Slicer students and staff inspired me to enter the counseling field and create Slicer Support Services. I was a long time English teacher, and I always worked with students who were at risk for having attendance, behavior, and academic problems. I was one of those teachers who students shared their personal life with such as struggles with drugs being used in the home, grief due to the loss of a loved one, fear or anxiety of being evicted from their home, and on and on. By students opening up to me, I discovered I wanted to help students help themselves with the challenges that prevented them from being successful in the classroom. So, I went back to school and I am getting my credentials in health counseling.’’
