LPHS will be hosting Slicer Staff vs. Senior Basketball Game on March 30th at 6 p.m.

In recent years, LPHS has not been able to participate in many activities that were traditions. Student Council and their sponsor Mrs. Lowry hope to remedy that with the resurrection of the game.

Tickets are cash only and can be purchased at the door. Athletic punch cards will not be accepted. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Riley Children’s Hospital.

“It just seems like a fun final event that seniors can participate in, and we get to compete against our teacher,” Alli Bender, senior, said.

Seniors will be facing off against their favorite staff including Mr. Ruff, Mr. Varda, Nurse Cooper, Mr. Jeffers, and more. Seniors are able to sign up to play for the game in Lowry’s room, 4.16.

“A lot of the students that are playing are my dear friends, and we’re having fun trash-talking each other all week. I’m playing because they’re in it,” Varda said

Student Council voted on the idea of the Staff vs. Senior Basketball Game with the goal to get together again since COVID-19 has shut down most activities in the past couple of years.

“It’ll be a good time. It’s something fun to do, it’s family friendly, and the seniors have one last fun time to get together and get competitive with their favorite teachers,” Lowry said.
