The Slicer Softball team is ready to take the mound. Leb by seven seniors, the team is ready to take on a hyper-competitive DAC.

Coaches

 

Name-  Ryan Sosinski

How long you played- I started playing t-ball at five years old. I was a first baseman and three year letter winner in high school. After high school, I umpired softball and softball for about six years. I continued playing in a few different softball leagues.

Why you coach- I coach because it makes me feel like I am a part of something bigger.  Sports have taught me many life lessons that have made me very successful.  Sports build unbreakable bonds.  I do it to pass those life lessons down to the next generation and hopefully make a difference in someone’s life. And of course, I am very competitive and want to win!  

How long have you been coaching- I have been coaching a sport ever since I graduated from college in 2013.  This will be my fifth year as the head softball coach.

Biggest goal for your team this season- Win a championship.

Name- Paul Lindeman

How long you played- 47 years of softball

Why you coach- I love the thrill of competition and the relationships that have been developed through this game with my teammates.  

How long have you been coaching- This is my eighth year with Slicer Softball. I coached from 2012-2017 and 2021-present.

Biggest goal for your team this season- To beat every DAC school at least once, and have a winning season

Name- Abbey Vergin

# of years playing-  13 years

Softball player you look up to- Haley Cruse

Game highlight- Making the game winning play against Mishawaka during Sectionals junior year.

Why do you play softball- Softball is where I forget about everything else going on in life and just play the game that I know.

Biggest goal for yourself this season- To have fun and enjoy the time I have left playing the sport I love

 

Name- Ashlyn Fritzen

Softball player you look up to- Morganna Flores

Game highlight- Diving catch as catcher, last inning, winning play

Why do you play softball- Family environment, so much support, I love to play it.

Softball player you look up to- Grace Arnett

Game highlight- Pitching a no hitter

Why do you play softball- I have love for the sport.

Biggest goal for yourself this season- Getting up to 65 mph on pitching

 

Name- Grace Arnett

# of years playing- 14 years

Softball player you look up to- I look up to Jocelyn Alo. She’s a beast on the field and her mental mindset is amazing.

Game highlight- My favorite highlights aren’t things I’ve personally done. They are big moments and though wins and loses we have as a team.

Why do you play softball-  What a tough question for many reasons. I fell in love with it as a little girl. It is the only place my mind feels completely free, and it has shaped and made me into the person I am today.

Biggest goal for yourself this season- I personally want to hit 10 home runs.

Why do you play softball- I just love the game and the thrill when you get a good hit or have a good play.

Game highlight- Two-run triple against Mishawaka in sectionals game my junior year.

Why do you play softball-  I have a strong passion for the game, making new friendships, and working as a team.

Game highlight- I caught a pop fly that tipped off Becca Marxman’s glove.

Why do you play softball- It’s my favorite thing to do.
