This week, the LaPorte High School Key Club is hosting a Pie a Teacher in the Face event.

Students voted between Mrs. Cooper, Miss Parker, Miss Vincent, Ms Scanlin, Mrs. Krause and Mr. Martin.

Students visited Vincent in H.13 during SRT Wednesday through Friday to buy tickets for $1 to vote for the teacher they wanted to see get pied.

Key Club hosted this event in order to raise money for UNICEF.

“Key Club is doing the Pie in the Face Event and a few others to help UNICEF raise funds for helping girls worldwide return back to school. After all the COVID related school closures, girls in particular were affected the most where millions aren’t returning back to school, and many people don’t know about this tragedy. That’s why we thought we could not only help UNICEF with this but also let others know and help to solve this problem,” Pooja Verma, junior at LPHS, said.

On Monday during 7th hour,Krause and Vincent where pied by selected students.

“I can feel the sweetness on my face. I don’t know why I agreed to do it. I am glad I did it for a cause, and I am happy it brought others so much joy,” Krause said.

Next, Key Club will be hosting a car was in the Marco’s Pizza parking lot on Lincoln Way from 12-2:30 p.m. on May 15th in order to raise even more money to help the UNICEF program.
