LaPorte County Animal Shelter full
LaPorte County Animal Control & Jane Bernard Animal Adoption Center announced that they were at full capacity on May 7th.
The shelter is in desperate need of families willing to add another addition or two to the family. If able to adopt please go to their website and fill out the application today!
Over the past month, the shelter has been bombarded with an increasing rate of strays and lost animals. They are still taking in found animals and advise people to contact them immediately so staff is able to care for the animal. Over the past weekend, they had four more animals brought in, and only three animals were adopted, so they are still struggling to get more adoptions at a faster rate.
“If you are looking to adopt you should come in, we allow in-person one-on-one time,” Jay Dare, a staff member, said.
The shelter also has a foster program available, and right now they are in need of families willing to foster the many kittens they have. The shelter will cover all costs; all they are asking for is a home filled with love.
They are welcoming volunteers, to be able to just go to their website to fill out the form and attend an orientation. Orientations are hosted around twice a month, and to stay notified, follow their Facebook page.
