Slicer Newsroom

Lillie Haycraft

Hi! My name is Lillie Haycraft, I’m a senior at LaPorte High School and I write for the academics section in the La Porte Hi Times Newspaper. I joined newspaper because I’ve always had a passion for writing, but I never knew what to write about. After taking a journalism class my junior year, I knew that news was my calling. I don’t have a lot of time to pursue clubs and sports at the high school because of my job. I currently work at TBerry’s Diner and love the experience it has given me. I’ve had the opportunity to be in a leadership role and don’t plan on quitting it any time soon. For my future, I plan on attending Indiana University of South Bend after I graduate and will be majoring in English. After college I want to move toward the east coast and become a teacher. Also, I want to own a cat farm.
